Our Mission

Our mission has always been to help everyone “Be The Best You That You Can Be”.  We believe that everyone can achieve their health and fitness goals but know that it’s easier to find success when you have the support, knowledge and guidance of experienced coaches and other members who are cheering you on.

We believe that CrossFit, along with any form of fitness and health training, should be available to everyone. That belief drives the atmosphere of our gym to create a welcoming and supportitive environment for all.

Dr. Rich Berkowitz

Position: Owner

Dr. Rich Berkowitz is one of Shelby’s vocal and active health enthusiast. From his practice, Carolina Chiropractic Plus, he has spent over 20 years helping the folks of Shelby live a healthier, pain free life. Over the past few years, Rich has taken that mission further with his involvement in CrossFit Shelby and opening a cryogenic therapy center, Cryo Recovery & Wellness.  At CrossFit Shelby, he knows can help others meet and exceed their goals for a healthier lifestyle but don’t be surprised if you see him right along side other members sweating it out and pushing himself to live the dream he shares with others, “Be the best you that you can be”. With his dedication to overall health and wellness and a passion of helping others achieve their goals, Rich hopes to continue the CrossFit Shelby tradition of creating a welcoming environment for everyone where they can find the knowledge, support and guidance they deserve to reach their goals.

Dr. Danielle Rogers-Berkowitz

Position: Owner

Dr. Danielle Rogers-Berkowitz, a native of Marion, Ohio, graduated with honors from the National University of Health Sciences with a Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1995. With over 25 years of experience in the chiropractic field, Dr. Danielle has dedicated her career to promoting health and wellness in Rutherford and Cleveland Counties.

Her approach emphasizes a full-body strategy for pain relief and overall health, aiming for real, lasting results. Passionate about wellness, she provides coaching that focuses on creating sustainable lifestyle changes, helping individuals achieve long-term health and prevent burnout. Dr. Danielle’s expertise and compassionate care make her a respected leader in the wellness community.

Will Berkowitz, a recent graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Psychology, has always been passionate about sports and personal development. As a member of the wrestling team, he honed his physical and mental discipline, striving to become the best version of himself. Will’s dedication to fitness and well-being extends beyond his personal goals; he is committed to helping others achieve their own physical and mental potential. His background in psychology and athletics provides a unique perspective, making him a valuable asset in the wellness community.

Joey Bailey

Hi, I’m Joey! After living a pretty sedentary lifestyle in my 20s, I discovered CrossFit in 2016, and it transformed my life. Two years later, I earned my Level 1 certification and began coaching. Since then, I’ve steadily improved, allowing me to compete in local and regional CrossFit competitions with friends (and even beat Ryan!).

I love coming to the gym for the motivating environment that pushes us all to be better every day. Let’s work together to achieve your fitness goals and embrace the challenge of continuous improvement!

Hi, I’m Dee Greene! While I’m new to the CrossFit coaching world, I’ve been passionate about CrossFit since 2013. With 29 years of experience teaching land and water aerobics, I truly appreciate the full-body workout that CrossFit provides. CrossFit Shelby is more than just a gym; it’s a family. We motivate each other and hold each other accountable, creating a supportive environment that we all need in our lives.

I firmly believe in the power of community and faith. As Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” I’m excited to be a part of this incredible community and help you achieve your fitness goals!

Hi, I’m Tyna Waters! I’m an ER Nurse and have been coaching CrossFit for 8 years. I have experience with kids all the way to seniors!

In high school, I played a variety of sports and competed at the state level in track and field. Once I discovered CrossFit, I fell in love with the intense workouts and the incredible results. Joining CrossFit Shelby solidified my passion for this community, and I knew I wanted to be an asset in helping others transform their lives for the better.

I enjoy coaching, motivating members, and improving their nutrition, but my true passion lies in making people’s lives more purposeful through functional fitness. Personally, life has thrown me a lot of curve balls but thanks to CrossFit I’m still in the game! Let’s work together to achieve your goals and live a healthier, more fulfilling life!

Hi, I’m Wayne Langley! I began my CrossFit journey nearly nine years ago to improve my overall health and well-being, and I’ve never looked back. Since starting as a coach in 2016, I’ve loved watching my athletes make daily improvements and reach new heights in their fitness journeys.

When I’m not at the gym, you’ll find me working around the house, building projects to enhance my family’s lifestyle. Hi, I’m Clint Bridges! With a background in weightlifting, I started CrossFit in 2012 to enhance my career in public service. I quickly realized I wanted to help others, especially those new to fitness, so I earned my Level 1 certification in 2013. I initially coached at what is now CrossFit Gastonia before joining CrossFit Shelby within a year of its opening, and I’ve been a part of this amazing community ever since. In 2018, I achieved my Level 2 certification. I love the CrossFit family here in Shelby and am passionate about helping every member reach their fitness goals. Let’s get stronger together!
