Functional Recovery

Weight training puts the body under a great deal of strain and stress. At Shelby CrossFit, we have incorporated yoga as functional movements to help the body better cope with these demands. Lifting weights contracts and constricts the muscles. Stretching allows the muscles to lengthen, improving the “gain” possibilities for the athlete. Flexibility and mobility ensure that the different parts of the body work together and work more efficiently. This results in better lifts and deeper range of motion. It also makes the individual less prone to injury. Our 30-40 minute class targets specific muscles to achieve body balance. It also helps to improve mental focus and requires no previous experience.

Hi, I’m Carolina Dedmon! Fitness has been a lifelong passion for me. I’ve worked at several gyms in the area and eventually found my place at the YMCA, where I became certified in various areas of exercise and earned my AFAA personal trainer certification. My own injuries led me to discover the healing power of yoga. After completing my 200-hour teacher certification, I realized how yoga could enhance performance and overall well-being.

I’ve since completed a 500-hour certification in Yoga Therapy and truly enjoy helping people strengthen their mind, body, and spirit. CrossFit is another passion of mine because it challenges everyone uniquely, much like yoga. I love watching our members grow and become like family. I’m thrilled to be a part of this incredible community. Let’s work together to achieve your fitness goals and improve your overall well-being!
